Not Even Two Days On The Job & Kavanaugh Puts Ginsberg To Shame As The Newly Confirmed Justice Has Already Hired as Many African-American Clerks as Ginsberg Has Since 1993 According To Reports

Newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has reportedly hired four female law clerks, leaving females holding the majority of clerkships for what is said to be the first time in our country’s history, as reported by The New York Times.

One of the women hired by Kavanaugh is African American, meaning that in his first few days on the highest court in our nation, he has already reached the same amount of African American clerks that liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has hired since 1993, reports USA Today in an analysis of court clerks. The same report found that most clerks working for the Supreme Court were white males. Western Journal writes, “Kavanaugh had promised during his hearings that while serving on the Supreme Court, he would follow the precedent he set over 12 years on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit when most of the clerks he hired were women.”

“My women law clerks said I was one of the strongest advocates in the federal judiciary for women lawyers,” Kavanaugh stated during the hearing, as reported by The Washington Post. “And they wrote that the legal profession is fairer and more equal because of me.”

“In my time on the bench, no federal judge — not a single one in the country — has sent more women law clerks to clerk on the Supreme Court than I have,”

Kavanaugh said

Kavanaugh prepared himself well. He already had a plan in place prior to his confirmation to hire clerks immediately in order to get ahead. “If confirmed, I’ll be the first justice in the history of the Supreme Court to have a group of all-women law clerks. That is who I am,”

he explained to senators.

African American clerk Kim Jackson worked for Kavanaugh in the past. Clerks Shannon Grammel, Megan Lacy and Sara Nommensen previously worked for other judges. All of the women started working for Kavanaugh this past Sunday. A liberal group’s spokeswoman stated that this kind of news would normally be welcome, but right now it is now.

“Unfortunately, it’s going to take a lot more than female clerks to undo the damage to the legitimacy of the court done by this travesty of a confirmation process. Women will feel much more confident in the court when their fundamental rights are protected and their equal dignity is respected in the rulings handed down by the justices,” claimed an angry Elizabeth B. Wydra, the president of the Constitutional Accountability Center. A supporter of the newly appointed Justice said that this was nothing out of the ordinary for Kavanaugh.
